12. Connectivity: Wi-fi and VPN

In this episode, we will talk about the eduroam network, a global mobility initiative developed for the academic community that allows you to browse securely both on campus and anywhere in the world. And the best part? Connecting is easy! Just use your institutional credentials, and the Unicamp Computing Center (CCUEC) provides a series of tutorials on the website to help you, regardless of your device’s operating system. Then, we’ll take a look at VPN, which keeps you securely connected to the university’s network even off-campus. It’s like creating a protected communication tunnel between your computer and Unicamp’s servers. Setting it up is simple, and once done, you’ll have access to all the university’s resources from wherever you are, whether traveling, at your parents’ house, or anywhere else.
